B.com or BBA ......?

My frd is in big trouble regarding with his career his parents have forced him to opt B.com . As he know that he have not secured good marks in acc and eco and he him self assisted that he is going to face problems in it .If he would failed in 1st semester can he would be able to opt BBA in 1st semester in same institution.
